Delaware County 32-2-52 Magisterial District Court

Facing a court date is an anxious situation no matter where you are. And if you’ve got a court date in the Delaware County Magisterial District Court, you’ve probably already got several questions. One of the hardest things about dealing with an upcoming court date is not knowing what to expect.

Have you been charged with a criminal offense? Are you in hot water because of a traffic violation? You’ll feel better with an experienced attorney by your side every step of the way. The Amato Sanita Law Offices can provide the legal counsel that you need. We stand by our clients and do everything we can to build a strong defense.

If you’ve received a notice to appear in Delaware County Magisterial District Court 32-2-52 in Secane, you’ll likely appear before Judge Kelly A. Micozzie-Aguirre, Magisterial District Judge. So if you’re appearing for a traffic citation, preliminary hearing, preliminary arraignment, bench warrant or non-jury trial you’ll see Judge Micozzie-Aguirre.

Magisterial District Court 32-2-52 is located in Secane, which is an unincorporated community in Upper Darby Township and Ridley Township. There are several election districts covered within the Magisterial District Court. They include Upper Darby Township Ward 1’s Precincts 4, 5, 6, and 7, and Ward 2.

The Magisterial District Court in Secane has the responsibility of deciding non-traffic citations and traffic citations. It’s considered a minor court, but that doesn’t make the experience any less stressful. No one looks forward to a court appearance, no matter how minor.

Preliminary arraignments and preliminary hearings for criminal cases are handled in the Delaware County Magisterial District Courts. This court is also the place where landlord/tenant disputes and civil cases with at least $12,000 in damages are overseen.

Delaware County, Pennsylvania: Magisterial District Courts
Summar offenses are handled in the Delaware County Magisterial District Courts. Although summary offenses are considered the least serious, that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve prompt attention.

Offenses considered less serious are acts such as driving with a suspended license, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, harassment, underage drinking of alcohol, and first offense shoplifting of items costing less than $150.

Delaware County has 33 Magisterial District Courts in total. All criminal cases start in one of these 33 Magisterial District Courts. If the case involves a felony or a misdemeanor, a preliminary arraignment and a preliminary hearing will usually occur. After that, the case will proceed to the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.

You might think summary offenses are not worth worrying about. After all, even the courts consider them as minor offenses. But a minor offense can turn into a major issue if not correctly handled. A summary offense conviction can bring up to 90 days in jail. And you might also end up paying up to $300 in fines. And what if you have a prior conviction? That can land you up to 180 days in jail. Those punishments don’t sound very minor.

Appearing in a Secane Courtroom Calls for a Delaware County Criminal Defense Attorney
If you think a summary offense is no big deal, then you might decide to plead guilty. Not necessarily because you are guilty, but because you just want to get the whole thing over and done. But you’re forgetting about the possible consequences of pleading guilty. No matter how minor, the outcome of your case will affect your future.

Jail time is always a serious matter. Spending time in jail will disrupt your life and affect those around you. You’ll also have a criminal record that could also prove detrimental to your future. Gambling with your freedom isn’t a wise decision. When it comes to legal matters, you should always want the best outcome possible.

Contact the Amato Sanita Law Offices. No case is too big or too small for us to handle. We treat all cases seriously, as your freedom is possibly at risk. We’ll examine your case, discuss the best options, and work to help you achieve the best possible outcome.
