Delaware County 32-1-31 Magisterial District Court

Your court summons says you allegedly ran a red light. Or maybe it says you allegedly shoplifted. In any case, you need a qualified criminal defense attorney at your side.

Before you go to court, you need to hire an experienced attorney to help you through the process. The lawyer can answer any questions you have about your case in Delaware County Magisterial District Court. Your attorney can help you mount a solid defense, while giving you professional representation in court.

The Law Offices of Amato Sanita has represented hundreds of cases before the Pennsylvania Magisterial Courts. We can represent you.

You got a summons to appear in Delaware County Magisterial District Court 32-1-31 in Crum Lynne. You will appear before Magisterial District Judge Philip S. Turner, Jr. The summons could be for traffic citation, preliminary arraignment, preliminary hearing, bench warrant, or non-jury trial.

The Delaware County Magisterial District Court 32-1-31 is located in Crum Lynne. It covers the following election districts: Eddystone Borough, Rutledge Borough, and Ridley Township’s Wards 1, 4, 6, and 9.

The Magisterial District Court in Crum Lynne is a minor court in the Pennsylvania court system. It decides all traffic and non-traffic citations, as well as landlord/tenant disputes and civil cases under $12,000 in damages.

Delaware County Magisterial District Courts

The Magisterial District Courts in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, decide all summary offenses. These offenses are the least serious charges brought to court in the state. They can include charges such as disorderly conduct, harassment, criminal mischief, driving on a suspended license, underage drinking, and first offense retail theft for items under $150 (shoplifting).

The Magisterial Judges preside over these courts, with the additional duty to administer oaths and perform marriages as needed.

Delaware County has 33 Magisterial District Courts within its borders. All criminal cases start at the Magisterial District Court level. The judges preside over preliminary hearings and arraignments for both felony and misdemeanor charges. After these preliminary proceedings, the cases move on to the next court, the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.

An experienced criminal defense attorney can help you if you are facing traffic or criminal charges in Delaware County. Depending on the details of your case, your attorney can identify effective defense strategies.

It’s a mistake to think summary offenses are minor. They are criminal charges that come with serious consequences. If you are convicted of a summary offense, you could go to jail for up to 90 days and pay a fine up to $300. If you have a prior conviction, the jail time could double to 180 days.

Why You Need A Lawyer By Your Side In A Crum Lynne Courtroom

You just want to get the charges behind you, so you’re thinking of pleading guilty. That could be a serious mistake. The outcome of the case could have long-term consequences that you need to think about first.

You could land in jail. Your boss may fire you for not being able to work. Your landlord wants the rent on time, not when you get another job. If you have family depending on your paycheck, they may struggle while you are in jail. Plus, when you get out of jail, you will have a criminal record. That will make finding a job or a new place to rent harder in the future.

Retain the services of an experienced defense attorney before you to Pennsylvania Magisterial District Court. Your attorney can defend you against the charges, offer sound advice, and represent you through the entire process. In some cases, the attorney may be able to get the charges lowered or dismissed.

Let’s say you are charged with criminal mischief. Your attorney will examine the case to see if it was you or someone else involved. This will help the lawyer put up an effective defense.
